  • Mark Howden

    Contracts Director

    Also the son of a professional tiler. Mark who has worked in the industry since 1988, co-founded the company with Darren in January 2000.

    When he’s not travelling up and down the country ensuring that projects run smoothly and liaising with architects, designers and tilers, Mark enjoys playing squash, watching football and going fishing.

  • Darren Nockall

    Contracts Director

    The son of a professional tiler with 30 years plus experience in the industry himself, Darren co-founded the company with Mark at the start of the new millennium. Working both in the office and out on-site, his job is to develop and grow the business, ensuring the company runs smoothly and that standards are kept high at all times.

    With three young children at home, he has little time for hobbies but lists spending time with his family, eating curry, socialising with friends and holidaying as his favourite pastimes.

  • Bob Johnstone

    Contracts Manager

    With nearly 30 years experience as a contracts manager, Bob will make sure your project is completed on time and on budget. Since joining us in May 2012 he has delivered excellent results on a range of blue chip clients including Pret A Manger, Adidas, Corals, Debenhams and Nandos.

    Outside work Bob is a massive sports fan.

  • Leah Johnstone

    Admin Assistant

    Leah joined GNTC in November 2015, joining our Project Management team.

    Currently studying for a Level 2 Business Administration Apprenticeship, Leah makes sure that everything is up to date and assists in creating spreadsheets for performance reviews.

    Away from work Leah takes a keen interest in cars, and has attended many big car shows around the country.


  • Billy Lockwood


    Billy joined us in early 2015 and has settled in well in our estimating department.

    With his 10 GCSE’s and BTEC diploma in Creative media, Billy has assisted in the pricing of some large projects including Center Parcs at Elveden and the Buxton Crescent Hotel.

    Encouragingly he cites ‘winning jobs’ as the best part about his role which is hopefully a habit he’s going to get into!

    Away from work Billy is a regular cinema goer and a mad keen Sheffield United fan.

  • Mark Holliday


    With over 30 years experience in the building trade, Mark worked for the likes of Henry Boot, Carillion Construction and Lovell Partnerships before joining us in January 2013. Now a key part of our estimating department, he puts his ONC in Civil Engineering and HNC in Business and Finance to good use helping our customers get fast competitive quotes.

    Aside from enjoying banter with suppliers Mark likes walking, mountain biking and spending time with his family.

  • Tom Clayton

    Senior Estimator

    Tom joined us from Derbyshire County Council at the beginning of 2014.

    With a good head for numbers and through showing considerable commercial awareness Tom has risen rapidly through our ranks gaining promotion to senior estimator in June 2015.

    In his spare time Tom enjoys his golf and football, but more than anything likes socializing with friends in the pub.

  • Julie Bower

    Accounts Manager

    Julie was a welcome addition to the accounts team when she joined us from William Hill’s bookmakers in 2014 where she had served for 25 years.

    Her qualifications include a level 3 Diploma in Manual book keeping and a level 3 Diploma in payroll management as well as a Professional Certificate in Accounting.

    A methodical and organized person she has quickly progressed to become our Accounts Manager. Julie is a keen reader and likes to get through at least 3 books a month she also likes to keep active and regularly goes walking and cycling.
